December 12, 2017 | The State of Alaska Department of Administration (DOA) has appointed alumnus David Newman (JD '00) as the new State ADA Coordinator to lead the State ADA Compliance Program. In his new role, David will work with each department to coordinate statewide efforts to comply with and carry out responsibilities under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Administrative Order 129.

The DOA's office says, "David brings a wealth of experience and passion to this unique position."

Prior to joining public service, David worked for a large law firm in Chicago before moving to Alaska in 2001. He has worked in private practice, at Alaska Legal Services Corporation, and for the State of Alaska for almost 11 years as an Assistant Ombudsman, Investigator for the State Medical Board, and Financial Examiner at the Division of Banking and Securities.

David lives in Anchorage with his wife, Amy, a Pepperdine Law alumna (JD '00), and their two daughters.
