A Message from Dean Paul Caron: July 2022 Bar Exam Results

Dean Paul Caron's message to the Pepperdine Caruso Law community regarding the California State Bar school-by-school data on the July 2022 California Bar Exam, released on Tuesday, December 20: 

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to report that Pepperdine Caruso Law’s July 2022 first-time test-taker pass rate again exceeded the average of the eighteen California ABA-accredited law schools (our 76.5% pass rate was 1.6 percentage points above the average rate and placed us eighth among those schools). Our out-of-state pass rate for first-time takers was 95.8%, which is among our highest out-of-state pass rates ever.

I want to congratulate our graduates—who completed most of their legal education in the midst of a global pandemic—for their performance on one of the most rigorous bar exams in the country. I also want to thank everyone in our community who helped our graduates achieve these results. In particular, please join me in thanking Ann Camacho, Barrett Schreiner, and Peter Fendel for their tireless and outstanding work in preparing our students for the rigors of the bar exam.

I hope you have a safe, restful, and joyous holiday season with your loved ones. We are looking forward to a wonderful 2023 at Pepperdine Caruso Law.
