Vanessa Mercado Awarded Latino Prosecutors Foundation Scholarship

Pepperdine Caruso Law rising second-year student Vanessa Mercado has been awarded the Latino Prosecutors Foundation Scholarship by the Mexican American Bar Foundation (MABF). The MABF is committed to decreasing economic barriers for Latino law students and increasing the diversity in the legal profession. The foundation awards about 25 named scholarships based upon donors and other associations. The award winners are from law schools in Los Angeles and Irvine, California.

Vanessa interviewed for the scholarship and discussed her passion for justice and being an advocate for victims of crime. In conjunction with MABF, the Latino Prosecutors Foundation awarded her a scholarship for her commitment, passion, and dedication to pursuing a career as a prosecutor. She was recently honored at the 32nd annual scholarship gala and was the only Caruso Law student to receive an award. Vanessa is currently serving as an extern with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office.
