Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) Alumni Become LITC Attorneys

Pepperdine Caruso School of Law's Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC), directed by Isai Cortez, provides much needed legal assistance to low income persons experiencing IRS tax controversies. Each semester, Professor Cortez and clinic students represent clients in audits, appeals, and litigation, often settling significant tax debts.

This year, Pepperdine LITC celebrates as two clinic alumni, Xiaoxiao Pan (JD '18) and Anna Sanchez (JD '19), have gone on to become LITC practitioners themselves. Xiaoxiao is a staff attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, and Anna is a staff attorney for the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic for Inland Counties Legal Services, Inc. Professor Cortez and his former students were reunited at the annual LITC conference in Washington, DC.
