Straus Institute Welcomes Judge Danny Weinstein (Ret.) as Distinguished Mediator in Residence

On January 28, the Straus Institute held a virtual international meeting to celebrate Judge Danny Weinstein's addition to the Pepperdine Caruso Law family. He will be an honorary faculty member and the Distinguished Mediator in Residence, co-teaching with Managing Director Sukhsimranjit Singh.

In addition to Judge Danny, as he prefers to be called, and his family members, the event was attended by top University officials, and board members and fellows of the Weinstein International Foundation who logged in from all over the world. After introductions by Singh, opening remarks from President Jim Gash, Dean Paul Caron, and Weinstein himself, several attendees shared words of congratulations and tribute. Judge Danny's wife Linda recited an original poem, and Judge Anne Claire Williams (Ret.) ended the event with a moving original song.

In a comment that summarized the feelings of everyone in the meeting, Andrew Lee, a Weinstein Fellow joining from Australia, said "Judge Weinstein has made me a better mediator. Uncle Danny has made me a better person."

Judge Danny begins teaching this semester. "I feel like I am in the right place," he said. "I want to be part of this great community, with the faith-based values of Pepperdine, which I share and make me feel like I'm with family."
