Straus Institute Represented at 2025 ABA Dispute Resolution Section ADR Conference

The Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution was represented at the 2025 ABA Dispute Resolution Section Spring Conference, held April 25–26 in Chicago, by professors Maureen Weston,  Stephanie Blondell, Helen Winter, adjunct professor Shaphan Roberts, and Deborah Jasmin. With over 300 leading practitioners, scholars, and educators in attendance, the conference remains the premier gathering in dispute resolution.

Professor Weston presented on the Arbitration Law Update panel, offering insights alongside professors Kristen Blankley of the University of Nebraska, Ronald Aronovsky of Southwestern Law School, and James (Jim) Madison of Madison Mediation. The session covered recent legal developments and trends shaping arbitration practice.

At the Legal Educator's Resource Share hosted by Northwestern Law, Winter and Blondell joined ADR educators and clinicians nationwide to discuss innovative approaches to teaching dispute resolution in today’s legal landscape.

Blondell, adjunct professor Deanna Parrish, and adjunct professor Sandy Jo MacArthur presented on Best Practices in Trauma-Informed Legal Education, emphasizing the importance of integrating trauma awareness into dispute resolution teaching and training.

The presence and contributions of Straus Institute faculty at the ABA conference reflect the institute’s ongoing commitment to collaboration and academic excellence in dispute resolution.
