Step Forward Day | September 12
On Saturday, September 12, 2026, 9am to 3pm, students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to participate in Pepperdine University’s annual day of service, Step Forward Day. Established in 1988 by two Seaver College students, this event creates meaningful service experiences for participants to deepen their understanding of community needs, foster lasting connections, and discover greater purpose by putting Pepperdine's commitment to service into action.
Over 30 service projects have been arranged both on campus and across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. On campus, volunteers can assemble hygiene kits for local unhoused communities, pack backpacks with school supplies for elementary school-aged children, and participate in the The Aerin Project, where students write letters that carry forward meaningful connection and purpose. Additionally, Pepperdine has partnered with a number of organizations for off-campus projects, including Food Share, Hope the Mission, It's Bigger Than Us, Many Mansions, St. Joseph Center and Urban Promise Los Angeles.
We invite students, faculty, and staff to search and sign up for a project on the Community Engagement and Service Calendar.
