Sudreau Global Justice Institute Kicks off Campaign with Giving Tuesday
The Caruso School of Law Sudreau Global Justice Institute is on a mission to spread justice and hope around the world. The Global Justice Institute is fighting to protect the vulnerable by strengthening justice systems and training the next generation of global attorneys. New projects were recently launched in Uganda and Ghana that seek to provide free legal representation to all those who can't afford it. In order to achieve this goal, the Institute has partnered with the respective National government's and other key stakeholders to open legal aid clinics and hire as many local Ugandan and Ghanian attorneys as possible. They will not only be providing critical legal services to those in need of justice, but also empowering many future leaders all across Uganda and Ghana.
On December 1, the Institute kicked off its first fundraising campaign in conjunction with Giving Tuesday, the worldwide generosity movement, and nearly $6k was raised in a single day. Institute Director Cameron McCollum said, "We were so encouraged by the community's response and generosity, and we believe the best is yet to come for this important project!"
As the Sudreau Global Justice Institute enters this exciting period of growth, it continues to seek ways to hire and train lawyers for its justice initiatives. The Institute works everyday to build and train a network of defense attorneys around the world to provide free legal aid to all those in need.
Will you raise your voice to shine a light on injustice? Your generosity will directly help to grow our teams to find and fight for.
