Sarah George (1L) speaks at Northeast Missouri Unified "MayDay" event

May 11, 2017 | By Kylie Larkin -- Pepperdine Law 1L student Sarah George spoke at the Northeast Missouri (NEMO) Unified "MayDay" event in Kirksville, Missouri.  The event, held on May 1, celebrated the contributions of immigrants in northeast Missouri.

NEMO Unified held its "MayDay" event on Monday inside the Take Root Cafe, where it celebrated the contributions of immigrants in northeast Missouri.

"We are here to stand together, build better and safer communities for all, regardless of race, color of skin, gender or religion, whether we have been here five centuries or five weeks in northeast Missouri," said Axel Fuentes, an event organizer. "Northeast Missouri can and will be a welcoming community for all because diversity makes us stronger."
