Restoration and Justice Clinic Secures Restraining Order and Ensures Safety for Domestic Violence Victim

This fall, court-certified Pepperdine Caruso Law students Jordan Washington (2L) and Lily Woodward-Logan (3L) successfully represented their client in a remote Domestic Violence Restraining Order trial. Washington and Woodward-Logan gathered evidence, drafted witness examination questions, drafted opening and closing statements, and prepared their client for questioning. During the trial, they elicited witness testimony, admitted exhibits into evidence, and requested that the judge take judicial notice of certain documents.  After hearing all the evidence presented, the judge ruled in their client’s favor, granting their client and her children a five-year Domestic Violence Restraining Order.
