Professor Victoria Schwartz Presents "Salazar v. Paramount Global" -- American University Washington College of Law

Professor Victoria L. Schwartz spoke on the Supreme Court case Salazar v. Paramount Global for the American University Washington College of Law's Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property. The American University Washington College of Law's "IP at the Supreme Court Series"  invites the parties and authors of amicus briefs to discuss the case and the oral argument following the Supreme Court arguments in intellectual property cases or adjacent subjects.

Professor Schwartz wrote an amicus brief in Salazar v. Paramount Global and had a front row seat for the Supreme Court oral argument, so she was invited to participate in the panel along with three other attorneys who had filed amicus briefs in the case.  The issue in the case is whether the phrase “goods or services from a video tape service provider,” as used in the Video Privacy Protection Act's definition of “consumer,” refers to all of a video tape service provider’s goods or services or only to its audiovisual goods or services.
