Professor Victoria Schwartz Participates in Intellectual Property and Art Law Presentations -- AALS 2025 Annual Meeting

Professor Victoria L. Schwartz participated in Intellectual Property and Art Law presentations at the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) 2025 Annual Meeting.

Professor Schwartz was the senior intellectual property scholar commenter on a paper by professor Katrina Geddes, titled “How Art Became Posthuman: Copyright, AI, and Synthetic Media.” The presentation was part the "Works-in-Progress Program: Emerging Voices in Intellectual Property Law" held on January 8.

On January 11, Professor Schwartz moderated a panel by the Art Law group titled "Recovering Long Lost Looted Art: Opportunities, Hurdles, and Statutory Protections."

Professor Schwartz also served on the AALS Art Law Committee and was elected the chair-elect for next year's Art Law Committee. 

The annual meeting, titled "Courage in Action," took place in San Francisco on January 7-11.
