Professor Stephanie Blondell Speaks at the International Academy of Mediators

June 7, 2019 | Professor Stephanie Blondell spoke at the International Academy of Mediators Conference on "Mediator Self-Awareness and Unconscious Cultural Bias." The conference was held in Banff, Canada, on May 30 - June 1. Professor Blondell was joined by Straus adjunct professors Steve Rottman, commercial mediator and IAM Distinguished fellow, and Shaphan Roberts, Director of the Los Angeles City Attorney's Community Mediation Program and Police Reunification Program. The session focused on developing strategies for maintaining a sense of balance and fairness when our biases are being triggered and expanding the definition of "neutral" beyond the profession's current orthodoxy.
