Professor Stephanie Blondell Presented with SCMA President’s Award at Annual Dinner
On November 5, 2021, Professor Stephanie Blondell was presented with the President’s Award at the Southern California Mediation Association’s Annual Dinner and Conference. The award is designated by the SCMA President who selects an individual who has made a significant impact to the organization and the mediation community during their term in office. Straus LLM Alumnus and outgoing SCMA alumnus Mark Lemke awarded Professor Blondell with the award.
Professor Singh, who serves as the Judge Danny Weinstein Managing Director of the Straus Institute, stated, “We are delighted to have Stephanie’s work be recognized by our friends at the SCMA. Stephanie’s teaching and advocacy within the Southern California mediation community is a testament to her commitment to advancing ADR as a field, especially during the pandemic. We are so proud to have her as a professor and colleague at Straus.” Professor Singh delivered remarks about the Straus Institute and its role in the Los Angeles community, as well as offering gratitude to the Institute’s founder Randy Lowry, who attended the event. Mr. Lowry also helped start the SCMA.
Professor Singh attended the dinner with adjunct faculty members Professor Shaphan
Roberts and Judge Alex Williams, director of external relations, Aparna Gupta, Deborah
Jasmin, who serves as assistant director of professional programs, LAPD Capt. Andrew
Neiman, and Professor Blondell’s husband. Several Straus alumni attended the event
and offered their congratulations.
Professor Blondell will be leading her signature training, Women’s Negotiation Academy,
