Professor Michael Helfand Discusses Supreme Court Ruling on Funding Nonpublic Education -- Orthodox Union Briefing and KPCC-NPR News
Professor Michael A. Helfand discussed the Supreme Court decision in Carson v. Makin for an Orthodox Union virtual briefing and on the KPCC-NPR News program AirTalk. Both programs took place on June 22.
The Orthodox Union briefing considered the ruling that removes barriers of government support of K-12 education for children attending nonpublic schools. Professor Helfand was joined by Nathan Diament and Maury Litwack of Orthodox Union. Additional information may be found at Orthodox Union.
Professor Helfand was also a guest on the KPCC-NPR News AirTalk program, "Supreme Court Rules Students Attending Religious Schools Have the Right to State Aid." The program focused on the case as the latest in a line of rulings from the Supreme Court that have favored religion-based discrimination claims.
