Professor Maureen Weston Presents "Sportswashing: The Use of Sports as Diplomacy" -- New York University Sports Law Association Colloquium

Professor Maureen A. Weston presented "Sportswashing: The Use of Sports as Diplomacy" at the New York University Sports Law Association annual colloquium. The colloquium convened panels to discuss major legal issues in the world of sports, including sportswashing, AI in sports, and NCAA conference re-alignment.

Professor Weston's panel on using sports as diplomacy included Jodi Balsam, professor at Brooklyn Law and NYU Law; Sarath Ganji, founder of the Autocracy and Global Sports Initiative; and Elliot Peters, partner at Keker, Van Nest & Peters. The panel was moderated by Cameron Myler, professor at the Tisch Institute for Global Sport. Prominent sports lawyer Jeffrey Kessler of Winston & Strawn delivered the keynote address.
