Professor Maureen Weston Presents "Dispute Resolution in Sports: US Sport Legal Developments" -- LawInSport Global Summit
Professor Maureen A. Weston presented "Dispute Resolution in Sports: US Sport Legal Developments" at the LawInSport Global Summit 2024 held in London, England. Professor Weston moderated and presented on the "Dispute Resolution in International Sports" panel. The panel explored developments in US collegiate and professional sports, alongside key legal cases challenging sport rules, practices, and decisions under European Union law and the European Convention on Human Rights. Joining the panel were Amina Graham, barrister and former head of the regulatory legal department for The Football Association; Maciej Balazinski, attorney and Court of Arbitration for Sport arbitrator, Sylvia Krainin, attorney and NFL counsel; and Björn Hessert, Court of Arbitration for Sport counsel.
Professor Weston also participated in private roundtables with sport counsel on the topics of dispute resolution, safeguarding, and privacy laws and sport.
The summit, titled "Understand The Rules Of The Game," was held at the A&O Shearman Law Offices on October 7-8.
