Professor Maureen Weston Presents "The Academic Perspective on Collegiate Sports and Evolving Economic and Societal Norms" -- University of Houston Law Center

Professor Maureen A. Weston presented "The Academic Perspective on Collegiate Sports and Evolving Economic and Societal Norms" on a panel for the University of Houston Law Center's Big 12 Law Deans Conference on March 25. Professor Weston's co-panelist was Sportico author and professor Michael McCann of the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law. The panel was moderated by dean Elizabeth Kronk Warner of the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law

The conference, titled "Navigating a New NIL Era in College Sports, " included presentations by Big 12 general counsel offering the university perspective, and by athlete advocates on the impact of the House v. NCAA settlement and the new system of university-athlete revenue sharing and NIL licensing arrangements.
