Professor Maureen Weston Participates in LawInSport International Conference
October 5, 2018 | Professor Maureen Weston participated in a panel on SafeSport at the LawInSport international sport conference in London, England. The annual conference, titled "Understand the Rules of the Game 2018," was hosted at the Royal Institution of Great Britain on September 13 and 14. The LawInSport conference brought together over 50 leading sports lawyers and 300 attendees to discuss and debate 15 of the most important legal issues and developments impacting on the world of sport. The conference is firmly focused on sharing knowledge, expertise and helping develop best practice in sports law and the law as applied to sport. Professor Weston's panel on "Safe Sport: How can you create a gold standard for safe sport?" included experts Adele Eastman, Solicitor (Child Protection Unit) Farrer & Co, Norman Wain, General Counsel, Chief of Business Affairs, USA Track & Field, Angus Bujalski, Legal and Governance Director, Rugby Football Union, and Dr. Daniel Rhind, Chartered Psychologist, Loughborugh University.
