Professor Jason Jarvis’s Article, Coerced Corporate Consent, Highlighted at International Association of Defense Counsel Annual Conference

Professor Jason Jarvis’s article, Coerced Corporate Consent, 75 Emory L.J. 629 (2026) (SSRN), was recently highlighted at the International Association of Defense Counsel’s annual conference as a selected reading for the panel “There’s No Place Like Home: Recent Trends in Personal Jurisdiction.”  The IADC is an invitation-only professional association of approximately 2,500 corporate and insurance defense attorneys and insurance executives from around the world.

The article argues that requiring corporations to consent to personal jurisdiction as a condition of doing business in a state can be coercive and, thereby, violate due process. Its inclusion in the conference materials brought that framework to an international audience of practitioners confronting the implications of the Supreme Court’s decision in Mallory v. Norfolk Southern Railway Co.
