Professor Helen Winter Speaks on Decentralized Dispute Resolution Mechanisms - LexTech Institute 2024 Annual Conference

On May 31, professor Helen Winter presented at the LexTech Institute’s 2024 annual conference at the University of Neuchâtel in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Dr. Winter and her co-presenter, Anja von Rosenstiel, spoke about challenges and advantages of using decentralized dispute resolution mechanisms (DDR) as a dispute resolution system on social media platforms.

Winter addressed whether DDR can be seen as an evolution or a disruption of Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) and the principles of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). She also addressed differences in legislation between the US and the new regulations in the European Union under the Digital Service Act.

The presentation was followed by a panel discussion with Winter and leading experts in the field.
