Professor Helen Winter Discusses Conflict Resolution for Weinstein International Foundation and Edwards Mediation Academy Lebanon Project

On May 3, 2024, professor Helen Winter presented her conflict resolution work with refugees, as well as her scholarly article on bias reduction strategies, for the "Seminar Series for Lebanon - From Chaos to Collaboration." The series is part of the Weinstein International Foundation and Edwards Mediation Academy's Lebanon Project.

The Weinstein International Foundation and Edwards Mediation Academy's collaborative project on managing conflict, which was presented for the benefit of 20 judges and mediators from Lebanon, was coordinated with the Weinstein International Foundations's mideast regional project director, Georges Feghali, and founder and mediator of Edwards Mediation Academy, Bruce Edwards. Judge Daniel Weinstein opened the event by recognizing the difficulties and challenges the participants are facing.

Professor Winter shared her insights on building peer mediation mechanisms in refugee shelters in Germany, as well as trauma-informed practices in the context of conflict resolution. Her work was well received among the peacemakers from Lebanon who are working to build bridges for collaboration amidst chaos.
