The AI Accountability and Personal Data Protection Act would restrict AI companies from using copyrighted material to train their models, allowing people to sue those companies for using their data without consent.
The bill’s proposal comes just weeks after the Senate voted down a rule in President Donald Trump’s tax cuts and spending bill that would have banned state-level regulation of artificial intelligence for 10 years.
Greg McNeal, professor of law and public policy at Pepperdine University, joined “Inside the Issues” host Amrit Singh to discuss the legal issues surrounding the future of AI.
