Professor Colleen Graffy Presents "Defeating Putinism: The 2024 US Election and Global Geopolitics" -- Tbilisi International Conference
Professor Colleen P. Graffy presented "Defeating Putinism: The 2024 US Election and Global Geopolitics" at the Tbilisi International Conference, co-sponsored by the George W. Bush Institute, the McCain Institute, and EPRC, a Georgian non-governmental organization. The conference took place in Tbilisi, Georgia, on September 5.
Professor Graffy joined former US ambassadors to Ukraine and Georgia, former US congressman Tom Malinowski, journalist Susan Glasser, and diplomatic and non-governmental organization representatives to discuss defeating Putin and "Putinism" and what is at stake for Ukraine, Georgia, and the world. They addressed how Russia occupies twenty percent of Georgia after invading the country in 2008, and has gradually seized Georgian territory through its "borderization" policy which expands its illegally occupied zones by pushing the border further into Georgian territory. Professor Graffy also joined former Georgian ambassador to the US, Batu Kutelia, and other conference speakers in Odzisi, overlooking a Russian military base in occupied Georgia, to draw attention to the borderization taking place.
