Professor Colleen Graffy Interviewed on "President Trump at Davos" -- LBC Radio
Professor Colleen P. Graffy was interviewed on LBC Radio's Ben Kentish show on "President Trump at Davos." Professor Graffy discussed President Trump's speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos and the potential invasion of Greenland--to which she concluded that there was no method in the madness. Professor Graffy disagreed with Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney's speech that the old rules-based order is dead, seeing the current situation as an "eclipse, not a sunset." While applauding Carney's "principled pragmatism," she stated that his proposed "Value-based Realism" should be a bridge back to the rules, not a bypass around them.
Professor Graffy commented that middle powers like the United Kingdom and Canada shouldn't just be "protecting themselves," they should be holding the door open for when the United States eventually recovers from transactionalism fever. "Might-makes-right" chaos will eventually undermine global prosperity, she stated.
