Professor Barry McDonald Awarded Inaugural Joel R. Harris Memorial Award by Veterans Legal Society of Pepperdine Caruso Law

Professor Barry P. McDonald was awarded the inaugural Joel R. Harris Memorial Award by the Veterans Legal Society of Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. The Joel R. Harris Memorial Award is presented to a faculty or staff member at Caruso Law who embodies selfless leadership in their service to the student body.

The award is named after Joel Harris (JD '20), a U.S. Army Veteran, Caruso Law alumnus, and beloved figure at the law school. To keep Joel's memory alive among his cherished law school community, the Veterans Legal Society presents this award to those who exemplify Joel's joyful selflessness and warmth in serving his fellow students.

Veterans Legal Society President and rising second-year student Joseph Castro presented the award, an engraved U.S. Army KA-BAR knife, to Professor McDonald during the Class of 2021 3L Celebration that took place on May 20, 2021.
