Advisory Committee on Evidence Rules meets at Pepperdine Law in honor of Dean Tacha

On Friday, October 21, 2016, Pepperdine School of Law hosted a conference and meeting of the Advisory Committee on Evidence Rules. The conference was convened to discuss proposed changes to Rules 404(b), 801(d)(1)(A), and 807 of the Federal Rules of Evidence. Distinguished members of the bar, the bench, and academia from the Los Angeles area were invited to participate in the conference. Among the conference participants were Pepperdine Law alumni Alan Jackson (JD '94), Wendy Coats (JD '05), and Virginia Milstead (JD '04). Professor Carol Chase also participated in the conference. A transcript of the conference will be published in the symposium edition of the Fordham Law Review.

Judge William Sessions, the Chair of the Advisory Committee on Evidence Rules, selected Pepperdine as the site for the conference to honor Dean Deanell Tacha upon her retirement as Dean of the law school. The conference was organized and led by Professor Daniel Capra of Fordham Law School who also serves as the Reporter to the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Evidence Rules.
