Pepperdine Law Congratulates Tracy Smith
September 26, 2018 | Pepperdine Law celebrates a new bell-ringer in recognition of post-graduate employment success, Tracy Smith! Among those joining in the festivities were Dean Paul Caron, Associate Dean Jim Gash, Associate Dean Danny DeWalt, Assistant Dean Shannon Phillips, Director of the Career Development Office, Michelle Feinstein, and members of the Administration Offices and Deans' Suite. As she rang the bell, Tracy was surrounded by a special gathering of classmates, including her first-year study group, Tyler Brown, Kylee MacArthur, and Ashley Gebicke.
Tracy has accepted a post-graduate offer as a first year associate at Sidley Austin, LLP in Los Angeles. She sent her materials directly to several big law firms in Los Angeles and was attracted to Sidley's strong corporate practice. Tracy was a summer associate this year and was thrilled by the substantive work she was able to do. She cannot wait to return next year.
As an undergraduate, Tracy went to Northwestern University and double majored in Psychology and Theatre. After graduating, she worked in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles for three years before entering law school. While at Pepperdine Law, she has enjoyed being the chair of the International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court team, a lead articles editor of the Pepperdine Law Review, a Legal Research & Writing teaching assistant, and participating in the Ninth Circuit Appellate Advocacy Clinic. Tracy was also selected to receive the Los Angeles Chapter of the Federal Bar Association's Judge Barry Russel Federal Practice Award.
Congratulations, Tracy!
