Pepperdine Faculty and Deans Participate in AALS Annual Meeting

January 6, 2016 -- The 110th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Law Schools, titled "From Challenge to Innovation: American Legal Education in 2016," is taking place January 6-10 in New York City.  Pepperdine Law is one of five law schools that are Bronze Sponsors of the meeting.  Some highlights of the annual meeting are:

Thursday:
Professor Michael Helfand moderates a panel on Religious Responses to Same-Sex Marriage (Section on Law and Religion)
Dean of Students Al Sturgeon speaks on a panel on The Team Approach: Working Together to Develop Professionalism Programs that Engage Students (Section on Student Services)

Friday:
Professor Kris Knaplund speaks on a panel on Sex and Death: Gender and Sexuality Matters in Trusts and Estates (Section on Trusts & Estates and Women in Legal Education)

Saturday:
Professor Rob Anderson speaks on a panel on Transactional Lawyering and Contractual Innovation (Section on Transnational Law and Skills)
Professor Khrista Johnson speaks on a panel on The Philanthropic Sector and Radical Reform (Section on Nonprofit and Philanthropy Law)

Professor Maureen Weston is chair-elect of the Law and Sports Section.

Dean Deanell Tacha is hosting a reception for ABA Law Deans.
