Pepperdine Caruso Law Trial Team Competes at Texas Young Lawyers Association National Trial Competition 2025

The Pepperdine Caruso Law Trial Team sent two teams, Natashja Atherton and Julianne Carter, and Emily Fukuda and Jarrod Houseknecht, to the regional competition of the 50th annual National Trial Competition hosted by the Texas Young Lawyers Association. Eighteen teams competed in the Southern California regional on February 6-9, 2025. The fictional civil problem featured a vicarious liability negligence suit arising out of a collision between a passenger car and a semi-truck on an icy interstate.

Natashja Atherton and Julianne Carter qualified for the semi-final round against UCLA. Both teams presented the plaintiff and defense sides of the case and were exceptional in demonstrating their trial advocacy skills.

The Caruso Law Trial Advocacy Program commends the advocates on their preparation, representation, and success at the competition.
