Pepperdine Caruso Law Trial Team Advances to Final Round of National Trial Competition

The Pepperdine Caruso Law Trial Team of Rebecca Voth, Karl Kleppe, and Jessica Gerber advanced to the final round of the TYLA (Texas Young Lawyers Association) National Trial Competition, which was hosted by UCLA School of Law and Loyola Law School on February 6-7.

During the competition, Rebecca and Karl represented a local power company accused of negligence in starting a grass fire, with Rebecca giving the opening statement and Karl offering the closing argument. Jessica and Rebecca represented a young widow in a wrongful death negligence action against the defendant corporation, with Jessica giving the opening statement and Rebecca delivering the closing argument.
