Pepperdine Caruso Law Recognized Among Top US Sports Law Programs in the Nation
Pepperdine Caruso Law’s Sports Law Program has been recognized among the nation’s top sports law programs by Hackney Publications. The program is led by professor Maureen A. Weston, who is nationally recognized for her service on the NCAA Committee on Infractions, scholarship in sports law and dispute resolution, and work as an arbitrator with organizations including the Court of Arbitration for Sport, American Arbitration Association, US Olympic and Paralympic Committee dispute resolution bodies, and FINRA.
The Caruso Law Sports Law Program offers both an LL.M. and a JD certificate in Entertainment, Media, and Sports Law. Students gain hands-on experience through the advocacy competitions, scholarly writing opportunities, and conferences addressing emerging issues such as name, image, likeness (NIL), sports betting, SafeSport, esports, and Olympic governance. A hallmark of the program is its International Sports Law Study Tours to locations such as Switzerland, Paris, and London, where students engage directly with leading international sports organizations, arbitration institutions, and industry professionals.
