Pepperdine Caruso Law Students and Faculty Participate in 2022 Christian Legal Society Conference

Pepperdine Caruso School of Law students and faculty participated in the 2022 Christian Legal Society (CLS) conference, which took place from October 6-9 in Newport Beach, California.  On Friday night, the conference held a dinner for law students, which was sponsored by Caruso Law. Professor Jennifer Koh, co-director of the Nootbaar Institute on Law, Religion and Ethics, delivered the opening remarks for the dinner. The dinner program included panel on the legal profession and law school moderated by Gary Hogan (InterVarsity, University of Southern California and Pepperdine Graziadio Business School alumnus) and featuring professor Tina Armstrong (Fuller Theological Seminary), professor John Inazu (Washington University School of Law), and InterVarsity president and CEO Tom Lin. Assistant dean Arnold Barba also attended the conference.

On Saturday afternoon, professor Koh participated in a panel on women in the law moderated by Lakuita Bittle (Director of Attorney Ministries, CLS) and including attorneys Paulina Belovarski (California Attorney General), Sylvia Chen (Google), and Laura Nammo (Acting Director, CLS Center for Law & Religious Freedom).

“The CLS conference provided the opportunity to meet Christian attorneys and students from around the country,” stated Caruso Law Christian Legal Society president Ana Rodriguez. “The weekend’s speakers affirmed that all of humanity is worthy of inherent dignity and honor."
