Pepperdine Caruso Law Students Participate in Immersive Olympic and International Sports Law Study Tour London 2025
Professor Maureen Weston and international sports law attorney and arbitrator Jeff Benz led a distinctive International Sports Law Study Tour with students in London. In an immersive study of the governance structures and legal processes that shape European, Olympic, and international sport, students participated in practical lawyering simulations at Pepperdine’s London campus and gained firsthand insights from leading experts in the field.

The program featured exclusive site visits and meetings with prominent global sports lawyers and institutions, including legal teams at Chelsea Football Club, NFL UK, Sportradar, Sport Resolutions, Bird & Bird LLP, and the British Horseracing Authority. Students explored a wide range of regulatory and legal issues relevant to sports law practice—including safeguarding, sports betting, anti-doping, crisis management, employment, and financial fair play—across local, national, and international levels.

Perhaps most significantly, students experienced the generosity and professionalism of the many speakers and sport organizations who shared their time and expertise in welcoming the group.
