Pepperdine Caruso Law Hosts Swiss Summer Courses at Château d'Hauteville
On July 20, 2026, the Pepperdine Château d'Hauteville campus welcomed 21 Pepperdine Caruso Law students for the first week of Swiss Summer Courses, a four-week program offering Constitutional Law Individual Rights, Copyright Law, and Sports Dispute Resolution.
Arrival day gave students the full day to get settled and adjust to the time difference, with meals available from the Château kitchen throughout the day as students arrived.
The following day was orientation. In the morning, students had time after breakfast to introduce themselves, share what they were looking forward to in the program, and receive a tour of the Hauteville campus and its history. After lunch, professor Christine Goodman and Château d'Hauteville vice chancellor and professor Marc Goodman introduced students to the town of Vevey, showing them how to navigate the public transportation system, pointing out local favorites, and, most importantly, showing them where to buy the best Swiss chocolate. The evening continued with ice cream by the pool, dinner, and a round of Swiss trivia with excellent prizes at stake.
The first day of classes began Thursday, July 23, with Copyright Law, taught by professor Suzy Wilson alongside professor Marc Goodman, in the morning, followed by Constitutional Law Individual Rights in the afternoon, taught by professor Christine Goodman. The day closed with a social gathering ahead of dinner.
Courses continued with the addition of Sports Dispute Resolution, taught by professor Maureen Weston, beginning on July 27. The program's courses concluded on August 13.
Many program participants enjoyed traveling across Switzerland and Europe over the weekends during their stay at the Château.
