Pepperdine Caruso Law Celebrates Rise and Thrive Week 2026
Rise and Thrive Week 2026, hosted by the Office of Student Life on October 12-15, brought together the law school community through talks on mental health, animal visitors, drinks and snacks, and celebrating each other. The week focused on all law students to allow them to discuss the challenges they may face in law school and share ideas and tips for other students. The focus then became relaxation and fun, and ended with a celebration of the community.
The week began with Open Conversation, where students, staff, and faculty discussed the challenges of mental health in law school and practicing the law. Participants exchanged thoughtful perspectives on how they handle stress and discussed what they can do to better navigate school and self-care. The day ended with an hour-long session of yoga in the Caruso Law gym. Students were able to focus on their breathing and move and stretch their bodies.
On Tuesday, snacks, coffee, matcha, and other drinks were offered to students to come grab. Students were able to take a quick break from studying during midterms to grab some sustenance and talk to the Student Life team and their peers. On Wednesday, exotic animals were brought from an alligator, to fennec fox, to a spider monkey, to even a therapy dog! Students were taught about each animal and were able to pet some of them.
We included the week with Global Village Day celebrating our community and their culture through cuisine, art, and cultural displays. The atrium buzzed with excitement as students enjoyed dishes from the Deep South, France, Iran, Italy, and more—symbolizing unity, respect, and curiosity.

The enthusiasm and participation during Rise and Thrive Week reflect the strength of our community, united by a shared commitment to learning, respect, and the pursuit of truth and excellence.
