Pepperdine Caruso Law Career Development Office Hosts "Meet The Firms" For First Year Students

On October 29, 2025 the Career Development Office (CDO) hosted a successful Meet the Firms networking event at Caruso Law.  Representatives from 22 of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the country, many with a global presence, attended. All first-year students were invited to attend and network with these elite firms, most of whom sent attorneys as well as recruiters, including a few from out of state and the Bay Area.

Students showed up in numbers in professional attire armed with carefully prepared questions and polished resumes. The atrium was transformed with networking stations and tall tables to encourage mingling, including on the patio terrace. The entire space was bustling with curiosity, questions, and animated conversation as students learned about how Big Law firms practice today and made excellent first impressions on prospective employers.

The students were not the only ones impressed with this dynamic networking event. Law firm representatives were equally impressed with the preparedness of Caruso Law students and the event itself. A recruiter from Texas who flew in specifically for the event said it was the nicest she had attended at a law school. “Haynes Boone had an incredible experience at Pepperdine’s 2025 Meet the Firms event - it was well run, engaging, and a wonderful opportunity to connect with talented students,” said Taggart Atwood.

Assistant dean of Career Development Alexis Joyce, whose team coordinated the event, said, “This event is one example of the many ways the CDO endeavors to provide our students with opportunities for success in today's ever changing legal marketplace.”
