Pepperdine Caruso Law alumna Nina Shayan Depatie (JD '17) is featured in Attorney At Law Magazine's special edition on family law. Depatie is the sole Los Angeles family lawyer included in the special edition, and is profiled in the feature "Nina Shayan Depatie: The Empowering Journey."

Graduating with a double major in legal studies and psychology, Depatie eagerly embarked on the next chapter of her educational journey at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. Not venturing too far from her roots, Depatie says it was no coincidence that she opted for Pepperdine. 

“It was important to me to stay in L.A. because I have a community here, my family lives here, and I wanted to continue to build and grow my relationships here,” she says. “I place great importance and value on relationships. That’s something that Pepperdine really emphasized, and that resonated with me.”

Depatie was also recently included on the Forbes list of the ten best divorce attorneys in Los Angeles.  She is the only attorney under 40 on the list, which includes the most well-known divorce attorneys in Los Angeles.

Nina Depatie grew up in Los Angeles and worked for the Major Crimes Unit of the L.A. D.A.’s office and the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law before going into private practice.
