Justice Eileen C. Moore (JD '78) Article on Preventing Veteran Suicide Published in The Daily Journal

Pepperdine Law alumna and California 4th District of Appeal Associate Justice Eileen C. Moore (JD '78) has published an article in the Daily Journal titled, "Duty, honor, country...suicide." The article examines the ways in which the legal community can play a role in military veteran suicide prevention. Justice Moore served as a combat nurse in the Army Nurse Corps during the Vietnam War.

To a certain extent, lawyers are sometimes first responders since a veteran's ability to manage the uncertainty and frustration of the legal process might be seriously impaired due to something that happened in the military. It just might be the lawyer who first recognizes the need for mental health evaluation and treatment.
