Maura Gierl (JD '12) helps secure victory for UMG Recordings

May 2, 2017 | By Kylie Larkin -- Pepperdine Law alumna Maura Gierl (JD '12) helped secure a victory for UMG Recordings, which was represented by Manatt, Phelps & Philips, LLP, in a copyright suit regarding royalties over a Justin Timberlake song.  Gierl, an associate at Manatt, was part of a team that filed a successful motion to dismiss in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.  The case is John Wilson et al. v. Dynatone Publishing Co. et al.
