Lynn Waller Kelly (JD '89) appointed Associate Judge of Tarrant County Probate Court

May 9, 2017 | By Kylie Larkin -- Pepperdine Law alumna Lynn Waller Kelly (JD '89) was appointed Associate Judge of Probate Court No. 2, Tarrant County, Texas, by presiding Judge Brooke Allen.  Kelly was sworn into office on May 1, 2017.

Lynn has practiced law in North Texas since 1989 and has represented clients in more than 130 jury trials. After beginning her career as a prosecutor in the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, she handled and eventually supervised litigation matters for the North Texas division of a major insurance carrier. In addition to private law firm experience, Lynn was in-house counsel with a Fort Worth-based Fortune 500 corporate legal department.

For the past 6 years, Lynn has had her own law practice in Fort Worth focusing on civil litigation, employment law, mental health, guardianship and probate matters.

A native Texan, Lynn is a graduate of Abilene Christian University and of Pepperdine University School of Law. She has been selected by her peers ten times to the annual "Top Attorneys" list in Fort Worth Magazine and was named a Power Attorney by Fort Worth Business Press in 2014.

Lynn serves on the Board of Directors of Fortress Youth Development Center and has served on the Boards of The Parenting Center and Tarrant County Bar Association's Women Attorneys Section.

Lynn and her husband Jason, an engineer for Lockheed Martin, live in Fort Worth with their son, Mitchell. They are members of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ in Arlington.

Judge Allen commented, "Lynn's extensive legal background, attention to detail and commitment to ensure due process for all citizens make her an asset to the Court. She is a welcome addition to the Court's team of 13."
