Los Angeles Italian American Lawyers Association Scholarship 2018
Due: October 31, 2018 by 6:00pm | Founded in 1977, the Los Angeles Italian American Lawyers Association (IALA) fosters friendship and networking among lawyers and judges interested in Italian-American heritage and affairs, provides Bar-certified continuing education, and participates in civic and community activities to improve legal practice and ensure the proper administration of justice.
Eligibility, selection and award:
Applicants must be enrolled at least part-time in a law school accredited by the American
Bar Association or the California Committee of Bar Examiners in a program leading
to a J.D. or post-J.D. degree. IALA awards its scholarship based on (1) academic achievement,
(2) financial need, and (3) potential contribution to the Los Angeles Italian-American
community. Applicants need not be Italian-American. All information received will
be verified to the extent possible, e.g., with the law school registrar. Applicants
might be asked to attend an interview. One scholarship award of three thousand dollars
($3,000) will be made based upon the quality of applications received and interviews,
if held. The winner will be honored at IALA's December membership meeting with the
California Supreme Court.
