Jeremy Evans (LLM '18, MBA '20) Appointed to City of Newport Beach Civil Service Board

Pepperdine Caruso Law alumnus Jeremy M. Evans (LLM '18, MBA '20) has been appointed to the Civil Service Board for the City of Newport Beach. The Newport Beach Civil Service Board provides advice to the city council on personnel matters, recommends changes to the civil service system rules and regulations, conducts appeal hearings of city employees for disciplinary issues and launches personnel administration investigations for city employees covered by one of the safety bargaining units and reports its findings to city council and manager.

Evans is an attorney, entrepreneur, author, educator, and community leader. He is the founder and chief executive officer of California Sports Lawyer®, a law practice and media platform serving clients in the sports, entertainment, media, technology, and business sectors. He is the host of the California Sports Lawyer® Podcast, author of a weekly column on sports and entertainment business, and publisher of The CSL Briefing. Evans previously served as President of the California Lawyers Association and the California Lawyers Foundation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation and the Newport Beach Civil Service Board.

Evans earned a Master of Laws from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. He also earned a Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from UCLA.
