In Memoriam: Carlton Lee Harpst (JD '75)

November 11, 2016 -- Alumnus Carlton Lee Harpst (JD '75), a graduate of Pepperdine Law's first class, passed away on October 29, 2016.

Via the Orange County Register:

Who was this man? The husband of Lucille for 41 years; the father of Brian, attorney in Santa Ana, and Ashley, a Registered Dietitian in San Diego; the brother of Scott and the uncle of Sarah. Who was this man? If you were fortunate to have known him how lucky for you. Lee was a lawyer of integrity who brought justice and honor to his profession. A 1975 graduate of Pepperdine Law School's first class and a member of the Law Review. Lee practiced Law for 40 years and was licensed in California, Hawaii and Nevada. With many trials and experience Lee earned the nickname of "Mighty Lee." Lee's sense of humor and his kindness had no boundaries. As a husband and a father, his energy and love has left us with wonderful memories giving us strength to always move forward, to grow and learn. We so wish his time was longer; however, in his 67 years, his life was rich, his lessons of honesty and work ethic were priceless. I have lost my husband and best friend, our children their loving father. Peace be with you.
