Honorable Jeffrey S. Boyd (JD '91) to be Recognized as Distinguished Alumnus at 2022 Commencement Ceremony

Pepperdine Caruso School of Law alumnus the Honorable Jeffrey S. Boyd (JD '91) will be recognized as the Distinguished Alumnus at the 2022 commencement ceremony to be held on May 20.  Justice Boyd serves on the Supreme Court of Texas. He was appointed to his seat in 2012 by governor Rick Perry and elected to six-year terms in 2014 and 2020. He previously clerked for the Honorable Thomas M. Reavely on the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and served as a senior partner at Thompson & Knight in Austin, Texas.

Justice Boyd graduated summa cum laude from Pepperdine Caruso Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the Pepperdine Law Review. He continues to lend his support to Caruso Law, most recently as a judge for the final round of the 47th Annual Vincent S. Dalsimer Moot Court Competition in 2021. Justice Boyd is also a member of the Pepperdine Caruso Law Board of Advisors that advances the mission of the university by helping the law school achieve the highest standards of academic excellence and maintain its distinctive character. 

Justice Boyd and his wife, Jackie, live in Austin and are parents to twin daughters, Hanna and Abbie, and a son, Carter.
