Judge Beverly Reid O'Connell (JD '90) and Justice Tricia Bigelow (JD '86) Featured in Daily Journal for Uganda Trip

Judge Beverly Reid O'Connell (JD '90), District Court for the Central District of California, and Justice Tricia Bigelow ('86), Presiding Justice of the California Second District Court of Appeal, Division Eight, were featured in the Daily Journal for their participation in a plea bargaining conference in Uganda with the Pepperdine Global Justice Program. Attended by 175 Ugandan judges, lawyers, and government officials, the purpose of the conference was to educate court officials on how to apply the plea bargain in order to reduce prison overcrowding and case backlog. Other Pepperdine attorneys who participated on the trip included Professor Jim Gash (JD '93), director of the Global Justice Program, and Alan J. Jackson (JD '94) of Werskman Jackson Hathaway & Quinn LLP.
