Dean Paul Caron Joins 161 Law School Deans In Letter That Causes U.S. News To Withdraw Flawed Diversity Ranking

Pepperdine Caruso Law Dean Paul L. Caron joined 161 other law school deans in a letter that caused the U.S. News and World Report to withdraw its flawed diversity ranking when it releases its law school rankings on March 30.  The decision was made after the law deans requested a revision to the Most Diverse Law Schools Ranking due to the exclusion of students of more than one race from its underrepresented minorities calculation.

The deans requested that the ranking be recalculated to include multiethnic students—which would mark the second time the diversity ranking was changed in the past week. U.S. News this week recalculated that ranking after initially failing to include Asian students.
