Career Development Office Celebrates Judicial Externships

On March 8, 2021, the Career Development Office (CDO) held its third judicial extern panel to celebrate the judicial externships secured by Pepperdine Caruso Law's students and to prepare them for their externships. The panel featured Sarah George (JD '19), Hanna Jolkovsky (JD '20), Alexandra Prime (JD '20), and 3L Cassidy Young who shared their perspectives from their current judicial clerkships and prior judicial externships.

To date, 28 students will serve as judicial externs this summer in various federal and state courts, including:

  • Matthew Andrade, who will extern for Judge Alka Sagar in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
  • Jared Antman, who will extern for Judge Barry Russell in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.
  • Allison Berquist, who will extern for Judge Lawrence Kahn in the Northern District of New York.
  • Deepika Chandrashekar, who will extern for Judge Kimberly Knill in the Orange County Superior Court.
  • Curtis Crawford, who will extern for Judge Otis Wright in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
  • Lauren Guggisberg, who will extern for Judge Victoria Kaufman in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.
  • Michelle Gubler, who will extern for Judge Martin Barash in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.
  • Kevin Kilroy, who will extern for Judge Dolly Gee in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
  • Louisa Kwan, who will extern for Judge Stanley Blumenfeld Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
  • Kelly Mahoney, who will extern for Judge Victoria Kaufman in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.
  • Aislinn McManus, who will extern for Judge Ryan Wright in Ventura County Superior Court.
  • Gabrielle Mix, who will extern for Judge Megan Wagner in the Orange County Superior Court.
  • Jake Porath, who will extern for two federal judges in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.
  • Susan Posluszny, who will extern for Judge Randy Crane and Judge Ricardo Hinojosa in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
  • Tim Ruiz, who will extern for Judge Ryan Wright in Ventura County Superior Court.
  • Kevin Samkian, who will extern for Judge Nancy Zeltzer in the Orange County Superior Court.
  • Aemon Viens, who will extern for Judge Rozella Oliver in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
  • Chloe Wigul, who will extern for Judge Ronald Lew in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
  • Kayla Wyngarden, who will extern for Judge Todd Robinson in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
  • Angela Zeng, who will extern for Judge Jeremy Dolnick in the Orange County Superior Court.

Other courts in which Caruso Law students will extern include the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and San Bernardino Superior Court.
