California's Newest Attorneys
On June 8, 2017, Pepperdine Law alumni, family, and friends gathered in the Graziadio School Wilburn Auditorium for the California Bar Swearing-In ceremony. "This is a momentous day, to say the least," said Judge Andre Birotte (JD '11). "You've earned a reservoir of trust, and you must work to keep it full."
Director of Alumni Relations Jessie Fahy (JD '11) delivered the welcoming remarks before Dean Selina Brandt called the court to order. Judge Michael Lief (JD '95) addressed the rows of graduates before him, reminding them that with the foundation of a Pepperdine legal education comes the obligation to serve as reputable and ethical advocates. "Be true to your oath, zealous advocates, and true to the law." Judge Lief administered the State oath followed by Judge Birotte's delivery of the Federal oath.
Congratulations to the newest (alumni) members of the California State Bar! We are so very proud of all of your accomplishments.
