Professor Ed Larson Speaks on "Antievolutionism in Historical Perspective" and "The Scopes Trial in Perspective"

April 30, 2019 | Professor Edward J. Larson made two recent presentations regarding antievolutionism and the Scopes trial, Tennessee v. John Thomas Scopes. Professor Larson presented "Antievolutionism in Historical Perspective" at Grinnell College on April 25. The lecture was part of the Phi Beta Kappa Annual Lecture Series. Professor Larson also presented "The Scopes Trial in Perspective" today at the University of Oregon in an invited public lecture.

Professor Larson is the author of "Summer for the Gods: The Scopes Trial and America's Continuing Debate Over Science and Religion," which won the 1998 Pulitzer Prize in History. The book may be found here
